French and Indian War
The French and Indian War that part of the Seven Years' War (1756-1763)
that occurred in North America between Britain and France. In the
end, France lost all possessions in North America except a few Caribbean
islands. Britain acquired Canada and Florida while Spain took control
of Louisiana (in compensation for Florida).
My Research:
Matthew WILLIAMS (1690-1814) served in the British Army under General
James Wolfe outside Quebec City. The entire life of Matthew WILLIAMS
is under review since all information comes from his obituary and
no other evidence has been found to date.
