My English forebears are a significant part of my heritage. Most arrived between 1630 and 1800. Some key individuals include:

• George Soule came over on the Mayflower (1620) with the Pilgrims to the Plymouth Colony.
• The Four Spencer Brothers -- William, Jerard/Gerard, Michael, and Thomas -- came with the Puritans in the 1630s to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Their sister Elizabeth also emigrated though I have little knowledge of her. My ancestor is Michael.
• The Whaley connection comes through a man called Theophilus Whaley. I say "called" because his origins are in doubt. Was he related to the infamous Edward Whaley, the Regicide? Or was he from another branch?
