Mary SHAY was born in April 1860 in County Kerry, Ireland. Her parents were Patrick SHEA and
Ellen DRISCOLL.
Mary married John MCNIFF (McNiffe) between about 1890 and they moved to Horseheads, Chemung County, New York where they can be located in the US Census for 1900 and 1910.

This was the second marriage for John. John was born about 1851 in Ireland, immigrated to the US in 1868, and married Maggie _____ in 1874 or 1875. They had a son, Simon, in 1875. Maggie died before 1890 when John remarried.
John died when getting off a train in Elmira. John worked for the railroad.
