Robert SPENCER was born 6 Nov 1674 in East Greenwich, Kent Co, RI to John SPENCER and Susannah GRIFFIN. He married Theodosia WHALEY 15 Jul 1697 in Kings Towne, Washington Co, RI and they had the following children:

Theodosia died sometime before 1623 when Robert married (2nd) Susannah BABCOCK on 7 Nov 1723 but there was no issue.

Robert married (3rd) Martha WHALEY (1680-1773), widow of Joseph HOPKINS. Martha was the sister of Robert's first wife, Theodosia. Martha had two children from her first marriage, Samual and unknown. Samuel HOPKINS became a judge.

Robert is usually listed as "Captain Spencer" so he must have served in the militia but I have no specific documentation to that effect.

Robert SPENCER died in 1748 at Exeter or East Greenwich, Kent Co, RI.
