Shelties

Shelties are great companions, but you have to keep them occupied. A bored Sheltie is full of surprises. Michaeleen ('little Michael') answers to "Mick" is my tri-color and Sophie is the mahogany sable. Mick & Sophie came from the Little Paws Kennel in Stahlstown, PA in 2003. Originally I only had Mick but his sister came to live with us in 2006. These are dogs that need room to run so big yard, preferably fenced in, is a must.

Now that summer is here, Mick & Sophie are constantly asking to go out. This photo (at right) shows them patiently waiting to play with Mick's favorite "ball", the flying squirrel. Sophie likes anything that squeaks or can be turned into a tugging game.

Road trip. Mick travels well but Sophie still doesn't like the motion and either (massively) drools the whole way or loses control of something. They are belted in but have enough lead to move around. Overall the trip was good, but don't ask Sophie.
